14th September 2012
Windsurfing: Alton reservoiur
Wind Direction: WNW
Wind Stength: F3
Surf / Sea State: flat
Air Temperature: warm
Sea Temperature: warm
Weather: sunny
Max Speed: 23.5 knots (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 10 km (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

Desperate for a sail when the wind was blowing hard in the garden, decided to head for the reservoir despite saying "I won’t go again". Didn't arrive till 4.30 and most had packed or packing up with the parting shot "U missed it again mate, its dropped!!" FCUK it, its blowing my roof off in the garden, but in a wide open reservoir there is no wind! aarrgghhh!!
Hung on till 5.30, nearly ready to leave and cry, when a couple of diehards started to plane. Rig 7.7M the fastest ever (but that was the wrong sail! meant to rig 8.7M – and didn’t realise I hadn’t clamp the boom properly), but no time to change jumped on the RRD Fireride and had a 30 min gusty / up and down sail. I did plane, got in the straps, pull a few carves / tacks and it 23 knots so although 2 star, it’s better than nothing. Earlier sailors said they used 6/7M and Neil 8.5 all day, but it was gusty then.
2 stars because I lost a part of my front clamp on the boom (hadn't clamped it properly), with no chance of a spare that’s £50 for a new front clamp....should have gone bloody gym Friday circuit training, as I would have lost the “right” llbs instead of ££)
...FCUKing hate windsurfing...FCUKing kite surfing is just as bad, cant get level 2 training in cos, winds too light/wrong direction, too windy, tide wrong, trainer working......I'll be FCUKing retired be4 I get on the kite board.....need a beer…
Saw Chris there - he had just fin sailing, also sailed all Fcuking day at Point Clear and also booked up with a 1/2 price deal at club Vass 2 weeks in May, wifey said no probs!!.. how do these guys do it!! where did I go wrong!!
